We're going with The Flying Buttercream. I'm not big on sweets but thought that the samples we tried during our tasting were delicious. Also, Tiffany's prices are extremely competitive. The website is www.flyingbuttercream.com

I agree with Flying Buttercream. We did tastings with 3 different bakers and her cake was the best tasting and was extremely affordable.

One thing you might want to think about is doing a smaller cake for you and/or the wedding party and having sheet cakes for everyone else.  Depending on which bakery you choose, this can cut down the cost per slice.

We're doing a small cake made by a family friend and then cupcakes.  On Saturday, we met with Angela at Three Tiers bakery in Bellevue, KY and put down a deposit on the spot because the cake was so good.  We also get free delivery and use of her cupcake stand because we booked in January. It's $1.95 per cupcake.

She's got a website and facebook page with pics if you'd like to check her out.

You may want to consider Andrea with Home Grown Cakes.  She's located in Alexandria, Kentucky.  She's very professional.  Her cakes are made of pure organic fruits from her garden and she's very inexpesive.  She bakes these cakes in her bakery and she doesn't have alot of people working for her, so........less overhead; which allows for more inexpensive pricing.  Hope this infomation helps!

I LOVE Andrea at Homegrown Cakes! www.homegrowncakes.com. She is wonderful and I am so thrilled I get to have, quite literally, the wedding cake of my dreams for SO INEXPENSIVE!

Her tastings are fun and delicious too.... I ended up choosing chocolate with chocolate ganache and raspberry jam on two layers, and vanilla cake swirled with strawberry-rhubarb jam (that she also makes from scratch) as an homage to my grandmother's pies of the same, in two additional layers. She didn't charge extra for the additional flavors or "extras" like the ganache or jam, and her work is beautiful.

    Hope this helps!

    Emily
