Small Intimate Venue???

My fiance and I are planning on having a morning wedding (11am) and then a brunch afterwards (12pm) and are looking for a reasonably priced venue that is still unique but personal (app. 100 people). We don't want a hotel or ballroom or large reception site. We were thinking more of a mansion or manor? Any ideas or help? I've looked at all of the big name mansions in the are and they're outrageously priced... Any ideas are more than welcome! Thanks!!

  • We are getting married at Wiedemann Hill Mansion but it's a limit of 60 people but if you choose to cut your list then I would highly recommend it
  • You should look into the chapel at Heritage Village in Sharon Woods Park.  My fiance and I are having our ceremony there.  It's an old chapel from the mid-19th century that they moved to the park and restored. It's adorable.   I don't know what month you're looking at or what feel you're going for, but I believe you can set up an outdoor reception afterward outside the manor house on the property.  www.heritagevillagecincinnati.org  Good luck!
  • We're just looking for somewhere to do the brunch at- not the ceremony.

Try The View restaurant in the Edgecliff highrise in Eden Park.  It has a very nice room that comfortably accomodates ~100 and their food is great.  I love the fact that it's conveniently located and they offer free indoor parking for guests.  We attended a small wedding there earlier this year and I was surprised the meeting room even existed (I'd been to the restaurant itself multiple times but it was my first time experiencing the private room).  This wedding had a buffet; I don't know if they offer sit down/served accomodations.   Good luck and let us know where you end up.
  • Try the Carnegie Center in Columbia Tusculum (not the one in Covington)

  • Another idea, have you tried the French House in French park?

One more to try is Memorial Hall. We looked there and they seat 100 people. It's not a mansion, but still really beautiful and intimate. They let you choose your own caterer and do your own bar, which can save some money!

  • Take a look at Pebble Creek, as well. Not at all banquet-hall-like. It actually looks like a southern mansion. There are a few rooms there that would definitely be appropriate for your event. www.pebblecreekgc.com, if you call ask for Mary Padro- she's the event coordinator there, very helpful!
