David's Bridal BM Dress Sizing (not for my wedding - my MOHs!)

I am going to David's tonight to pick out my BM dress for the wedding I am the MOH in, and I was just looking at their sizing chart, and I am REALLY confused.

Apparently my waist is a size 2 while my bust is a size 10?? Does anyone know if the David's sizing chart is actually legitimate? I have heard bad things about how they measure and what size they tell you to get at David's, and I want to make sure I get as close to my real size as possible to make alterations easy....

Any hints would be much appreciated - I have never shopped at David's before! Thanks ladies!

My DB wedding dress is the same size that I wear in normal clothing.  I also have a cocktail dress that I got there, same deal.  Regular size=size that I bought at DB

I've found DB sizing to be WACKY.  Go and actually try one on if you can.

The DB I went to for a BM dress had tons of samples in all different sizes. They basically asked us what size dress we were and had us try that size on. When I got my dress, the top was really tight and the bottom was loose. This is very strange b/c I am pear shaped. Luckily I lost a little weight so the dress fit for the wedding, but I really didn't like that the store didn't measure us. I'm not sure if this is true for all locations since I've only gone to one DB.

Ditto K888.  They'll have different samples for you to try on so yu should be able to guesstimate more or less.

I had a similar experience.  I tried on a BM dress in the store and it fit perfectly.  When I got it in, it was tight.

When I tried on wedding dresses there, the lady said that the samples really stretch out from having so many people try them on.  I tried on one dress in the size I wear and it fit perfectly, but when we talked about possibly ordering it, she said I would need to order 2 dress sizes larger.  I didn't end up going with that one, but I was skeptical that a dress could stretch 2 sizes...

oh dear. you guys have made me even more nervous!!! hahahaha. I have a funny shaped body to begin with so I can't imagine that this will go well tonight.

When my girls tried on the samples at the store, they sizes they ordered were a little loose on the them, but when they got the new ones they were a bit tighter...I had one BMs that tried a dress on and the sample fit perfect but when it came in it was to tight and we had to exchange for a size up!

Honestly, I just tried on my normal dress size and went from there...

My dress is from there, it is a size up from my pant size which is what they suggested and it worked out, I need no alterations. My bridesmaids tried dresses on, ordered what fit them and are all now getting them taken in. I know they have lost a little weight since trying them on, but my best friends dress dropped to the floor when she put it on, because it was so big on her.

one of my bm had sizing problems for sure! She wears a 4 but they have her in a size 8!? Also i ordered my dress from their too and I wear a 12-13 and my dress is a 16! I know I am not that big but found it completely ODD!

The same thing happened to me a couple yesrs ago and this is how it was explained to me by them.
