Engagement ring?

My boyfriend and I have started looking at engagement rings.  Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look in the Cincinnati area?

Many Thanks,
Lisa

James Free Jewelers, hands down. They have a huge selection, high quality items, great service, and they are super nice.

I used Richter and Philips downtown. They were wonderful to work with and treated us better than we could imagine. They have also made sure that when I had some trouble with the metal on my ring, that we were not out a dime. They had the mfg replace it for not charge.

I can't say where to shop but I will recommend avoiding Ashcroft & Oak. They matched the pink sapphires horribly(very obviously diff colors) and were a complete pain to get it fixed. They gave us an estimate of 2-3 weeks to fix it then kept it for over 2 months to fix it.

We called to check up on the ring when it was supposed to be in and they said it wouldn't be in for another 2 weeks (geez thanks for letting us know!) We called weekly after that and were continually told it was not ready when promised. At one point they actually told us they had lost it and didn't know where it was!

We used Jared and have loved every interaction with them. They can fix/size your ring on site and it takes about an hour or two...whereas, other places have to send out your ring for a week +.

My fiance and I worked with Faigle Jewelers (4969 Glenway Avenue, Cincinnati, OH) and they were the best! It is a family run business and they really care about each of their customers. They never made us feel pressure to buy, answered all of our questions and worked with us to use a diamond that was personal to my finace. And my ring is gorgeous...and everyone who has seen it has said the same. Can't imagine going anywhere else for our jewelry needs.

My FI worked with Dave at Stafford Jewelers in Kenwood Mall.  They are extremely professional and he said they spent as much time with him as he needed.  He came out of the process feeling very educated about diamonds and knew that he got a great deal but didn't have to sacrifice quality.

Yeltons in West Chester easy!!  We got my ering from James Free and had less than a stellar experience (they made the complete wrong ring.)  Then there wasn't a matching band so we went on a hunt everywhere in Cincy.  We ended up at Yeltons who BENT OVER BACKWARDS to help us.  Tina and Mark are the owners and 2 of the nicest people I've met.

We looked at both Richter and Phillips and James Free.  We found similar rings that we liked at both places, but when H went in with the cash, Richter and Phillips was willing to work with him on price the most, so we went with them.  The people we worked with at both places were very nice though.  My e-ring is pave set with diamonds all around the band as well.  When he first gave me the ring we noiced a pave diamond was missing, so we took it down to R&P and they fixed it very quickly for no charge.  A couple months later, one of the diamonds was missing from the band.  This time they sent it back to the mfg and had them fix it as well as thoroughly inspecting the ring to make sure none of the other diamonds were loose (again no charge).  We also ended up getting our bands from R&P as well, and were completely satisfied with everything they did.

My FI worked with Motch Jeweler's in Covington to get my vintage ring cleaned and fixed up.  They are the oldest jeweler in the area, located in the wedding district in Covington.

I know they have a wide selection of new rings as well.  Everyone in my family has always used them and has great things to say about their experience.

Eddie Lane's is fabulous and also open past 5 on weekdays...which is suprisingly hard to find in an independent jeweler! Their associates were happy to sit with us for as long as we needed to understand what we were looking at too.. they were awesome.

Robin James Jewelers on Glenway Ave close to Bridgetown Rd is wonderful...my fiance took me there to look at rings almost a year before we got engaged. It is family owned and they still remembered him when he came back to buy the ring. They worked with him several times, over about 9-10 hours, to not only give him the best diamond, but also a great deal. The ring ended up costing him half of what the actual value was. They have a great, revamped website and also have different hours for those who work 9-5. They also have a coupon for 20 or 25% off on the website that does not expire :)

    Good luck!

Hannoush Jewelers in Kenwood Towne Center is great. They are not anything like the places that try to "wine and dine" you for ultimately weak jewelry. . . i.e., all the places that you hear commercials for on the radio.
