I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of the nice people on here that I have encountered. I have gotten some really, really useful information and contacts for my upcoming wedding. As an older bride, things have really changed over the years and I was really lost and overwhelmed by a lot of the planning. This board has really been a godsend for me and has saved me a lot of money and has giving me great ideas to make my wedding just how I imagined. I got off to a rough start and still continue to get snarky comments here and there, but please remember to be kind to the newbies. We are still learning about the board and don't know proper terms and rules but we are learning. Newbies hang in there and don't get discouraged by some posters who are out for blood. Just ignore them. Most of them are women who have already had their wedding and I am not sure why they are still on here anyway if only to criticize. Again, thanks so much to all the NICE girls out there that sincerely want to help other future brides out....you have made a world of difference in my wedding!

np! That's what we're here for.  I also love The Knot and I couldn't have become a more informed bride because of it.  And I saved as much.  I'm glad that rough beginning didn't scare you away.

So who are the vendors you've booked so far?

What a nice gesture on your part.  I hope your wedding is spectacular.  Like you, I've wondered why not-so-newly-weds still troll this site.  I thought The Nest was the next level they can move on to.  Yes, I realize we can learn from their experiences and mistakes.  But I think my mom made a good observation in that they don't want to give up the glory of the wedding euphoria.  Personally I'll be glad to put this stress behind me.  Let us know how your wedding goes.  GL!

The marrieds still hang around to offer advice. They've already been through the entire process, and are some of the most helpful people to talk to. Don't get me wrong, it's also nice to have people that are going through the same planning process to talk to.<div>
