Hair Help!

Lots of questions:

Are you having 1 stylist do you AND all the bridesmaids hair?

Are there any reasonably priced, talented stylist in Cicny that you know of? That would go on-site.

If you don't have hair/makeup come to where you are getting ready, how does that work? Wouldn't you have to get your hair and makeup done like 6 hours before the actual wedding??

Any advice helps.
Thanks!

I'm having Michelle Marx do my hair and makeup and so are my BMs.  She's bringing an assistant with her.  I tell her what time I need to be ready by and she tells me when she'll come.  She will finish preparing for everyone on time so I'm confident with our timeline.

I second this... I'm totally lost as far as hair goes.  I don't know if I want hair and makeup, or just hair.  I'd like to have my bridesmaids, MOB & MOG hair done... but adding that with makeup is a little pricey (I only have 3 BM)

I had Michelle Marx come and do hair and makeup for me and my girls and our moms. She brought an assistant like clearheavens said and they got everyone done in plenty of time and everyone looked amazing.

Supposedly Sam Hills and Jen Nally are considered to be 2 of the best hair stylists in Cincinnati (according to some of the wedding planners I've contacted).  Both are much more expensive than most, but they are willing to do on-site hair.  Brideface has been traditionally mentioned as the best for make-up, but they are also ridiculously expensive.

I've tentatively booked Sam Hills and Nancy from Brideface, but I might change my mind if the budget gets too tight.

I am using Connie Meyers with Hairlines in Fort Mitchell. She has done several weddings that I have been in and now she is the only one I like doing my updo's...

She is coming to us on the wedding day and bringing Christina, another stylist bc I have such a big party...

To answer your question though about what to do if the stylist wont come to you...  We had this issue with a wedding I was in a few months ago. The bride had all of us meet at her house and then we all car pooled to the hair salon. The salon let us bring in food and drinks so we hung out there while everyone got their hair done. It was pretty fun!

Amanda Rey from Bella Rey will be doing my hair and my bridesmaids hair.  She's very reasonably priced and willing to travel if you're in the Cincinnati area. My trial was awesome.  If you have a lot of people, you might also be able to book the other stylist from Bella Rey.  I have to say, I'm comforted by the fact that she does hair as her full-time job.

Having a separate hair stylist and make-up artist is saving us some time...folks will rotate between the two.

I have been in like 5 weddings and for all we have traveled to the salon and had our hair done there.  For weddings that were at around 6 we met at the salon at about 10.  My best experience was at Mi salon in florence because we all had our appointments at 10 with different people so it was very efficient.  But, on the other hand, that leaves room for one person to get an inexperienced stylist.

I would just make sure to make a timeline and stick to it, that is the best advice.
