How much does a good DJ cost?

I know there  are a lot of add on that you can get to your package, but did anyone get a decent DJ that did his job well that didn't cost an arm and a let? I am just looking for someone with personality and professionalism. Thanks ladies!

    I have read some great reviews on Brian Childs. I have booked him, but not getting married until April. I believe he was under $600 for 4 hours. He has been responsive and organized so far in our planning.

    I'm using Elite Signature DJs. They had a promotion going on that took $200 off the price...so I got them for $495 + $50 (I booked an extra hour in advance) so $545 for a 5 hour reception :)

    I had very good service from Party Pleasers who did everything I asked for.  And with their DJ only package, it was about $1,100.

    We paid $545 for Joe w/Steve Bender Productions. He did everything and played everything we asked for. I'd highly recommend him!

    EDIT: Just thought it was also necessary to tell you that we had him for 5 hours. GL!
