Invitations Help please!

We are finally getting around to stuffing/addressing our invitations and I am trying to figure out how to address the inner envelopes. Do we write each person's full names, titles or just first names? We are also inviting children and I think I was told that the children's names go on the inner envelope as well? Also does it go on the main part of the envelope or the flap? Sorry I am kinda clueless lol. Please help!

  • It goes on the main part of the envelope, where the address would normally. Put the names of everyone invited. Do not put "and family" as it opens the door for bringing their mothers cousins who you've never met. Just put the names of who is invited. You can do titles if you want to but no titles is fine too. I would do the whole name though.

  • We addressed our outer envelopes as follows... Mr & Mrs John Smith for married couples, Mr. John Smith or Miss Jane Smith for single people and for couples who aren't married we did Mr. John Smith and then on the next line we put Miss Jane Jones.  Hope that helps.

  • We didn't do inner envelopes...however, you normally call them by the names you call them...If you call James, Jim, you put Jim & Rachel...
  • I wanted to keep my inner envelopes formal, so for married couples I just  put Mr. and Mrs. John Doe or if it was addressed to a single person and guest... Mr. John Doe and guest.  If it was a couple who lived together, I wrote Mr. John Doe and Ms. Jane Doe. I know some people write nicknames, but I decided to keep it more formal because it was easier. • Oh and if children were invited, I wrote their names on the inner envelope after the parents' name, like this:

    Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
    Jimmy Doe
    Jane Doe
