Have you ever heard of Peekskill Homestyle? That's where we have to get ours,I have heard really good things...but was wondering what they let you taste the day of the tasting lol...

I have heard of them! I'm trying to remember if they were on our list. We could pick from two bakeries. I picked A Little Cake because it was closer to us.  When we did our cake tasting they brought us like 10 different slices of cake with different fillings to try. This was definitely FI's favorite part of the wedding planning!

Lucky!  I read in a review that they only brought out a few pieces to try, one being lemon  - - blah...lol...

I LOVE homesytle bakery!!! Are you from around there? My grandpa lives about 2 miles away and we lived in the area when I was young.  Whenever we visit him I always try to sneak out to the bakery!

That's pretty stingy!!! Why wouldn't they let you taste more? Strange!! And I agree... lemon is blah! hahah Maybe you can ask to taste more!

I live in the city, originally from putnam county...getting married in Westchester County, and our venue uses Peekskill...glad to hear you love it, I keep reading the reviews that people have wrote, it sounds promising!!

Every cake we've ever gotten there has been amazing.  Maybe you could pay for more slices though? One of the places I went to that usually doesn't do much in the way of tastings said if we called ahead a week or so ahead they would make us cupcakes based on the cake orders that came in during that week and then we could taste those.  They didn't want to make up a whole batch just for us to have a tasting, which is understandable.
