Dance Lessons

Has anyone taken dance lessons to prepare for your first dance??  There seem to be lots of dance studios that offer wedding dance class packages, but I haven't been able to find reviews on any of them. I would love some suggestions of where to take lessons.

Neither my fiance or I have any rhythm at all, so we are looking more for someone to help us look less awkward while dancing (right now I think we would just stand there and sway) not a choreographed dance.

    My fiance and I have signed up for Utah Ballroom Dance on State Street. They have a wedding package of four lessons (one hour each) for $200. They haven't started yet but I will keep you updated. :)

    Thanks for the suggestion!!  Four lessons would be perfect for us.  Without some instruction, we would probably just awkwardly sway (think middle-school dances) for the whole song :)  Definitely let me know if you have any opinions of Utah Ballroom Dance after you are done with the lessons.  Thanks again!

    I am in the process of taking the dance class on State Street (DF dance studio).   We are doing our last class tomorrow, and went from doing the "high school" Sway to being able to move around the floor, a couple twirls, and learning the dip tomorrow.   We are both pretty uncooridated too.   I recommend it, our instructor is Ryan, and hasn't laughed at us yet : )

    We actually used DF dance studio and had Ryan Dark as our instructor as well!  He was awesome.  And even though my husband and I have four left feet between the two of us, we managed to get thought the whole dance without tripping or embarassing ourselves. 

    We also ended up hiring Ryan to do a short swing dance instruction during our actual reception which turned out really well.

    my fi and i have been taking lessons there. we have mandi and LOVE her. she is a doll and a great teacher. cant wait to dance at our wedding next sat
