Breezes, Bahamas

Hey girls! Has anyone ever stayed at the Breezes resort in the Bahamas? My Fiance and I are considering it, but I am finding mixed reviews online.

Any input would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Re: Breezes, Bahamas

  • I stayed there in 2010. STAY AWAY! It was horrible. I went for a long weekend with one of my friends and it was one of the worst experiences I ever had! It is more of a spring break type of resort. When I booked my room I booked a poolside/oceanview room...when we got there they ended up giving me a garden side room. We couldnt check in until 3 or 4 and we got there at 9 am! They had no way to accomdate us other than telling us they can hold our luggage (with EVERYONE else's) and we can use the pool. When we finally got into our room, I realized they gave us the wrong room. I had to go back down and clear everything up. We didn't end up getting into our room until 7pm! It was such a waste of the day. The rooms were dirty, there was a million teenagers, it was IMPOSSIBLE to make reservations at the restaurants. Truly horrible! They said you had to make reservations for the restaurants the day before the night you wanted to go, in person, and before 7 am! I thought that was insane! I went down one morning around 6:30 and they told me they were already booked for the following night and I could try again the next day. We were only there for 4 nights! I finally had to complain to the manager and he ended up reserving us a private table. The food was horrible and not worth any money, maybe that's why it is all included! The only good thing was that all the drinks were full of decent alcohol and weren't watered down. I would never go there for my honeymoon, not even if it was paid for! I would look elsewhere! If you have the money and are still interested in the Bahamas, I would DEFINITELY stay at The Atlantis! I hope that helped! If you have any other questions, let me know.
  • Oh wow, good to know! Thank you so much- I did look at the Atlantis and we are also looking at the Grand Cayman Island, so I will have to refocus my search. Thank you!

  • Ok, if you want some more feedback, I also went to Grand Cayman and I LOVED IT! The island had such great people, nice shops, beautiful beaches! It was great! I went on a cruise there, so I cant really say too much about the resorts or hotels, but we loved being on the island itself. I hope it all works out for you! If you want something all inclusive, I am staying at the Sandals in St. Lucia. I have heard amazing things so far from everyone I spoke to about it and know several people that have honeymooned there before, not one person had anything bad to say. I wont be going until this September so I cant give a review just yet, but look into it!

  • I've been to both the Cayman Islands and Atlantis and they were both amazing vacations. The only thing I would say about Atlantis is it is a little pricier and it may be too family oriented for a HM. At least when I went, there were kids everywhere.

  • Honey, STAY AWAY.. Went there in 2007 with my now husband and it was AWFUL...The rooms were awful, the food, kids everywhere, it had this smell...There is nothing HONEYMOONY about it

  • I wouldn't stay at the Atlantis for a honeymoon unless you can afford to upgrade to The Cove and plan to stay on that quiet side of the hotel. To me, the Atlantis is like a mix between Disney World and Las Vegas. Fun things to do, but extremely man made, too many children, and too expensive. If you end up somewhere else in the Bahamas, definitely go to the Atlantis for a day trip to check out the aquariums and ride all the waterslides, but it isn't honeymoon-y to me. Also, we did not do any type of meal plan, and the food was SO EXPENSIVE and practically inedible.  For example, at the "cheap" Asian fusion themed restaurant, fiance and I spent over $50 on one appetizer, two entrees, and waters (no alcohol at all).  It was flavorless and inedible - PF Changs would beat it any day.  This isn't to say that the grounds aren't cool, and the beaches are absolutely stunning - I would just look elsewhere (Sandals, maybe) if the Bahamas are at the top of your list.
  • Wow, I got engaged there this January and I had a blast.
