Looking for an all-inclusive resort, not in Mexico, not overly expensive...any suggestions

Hi everyone:

We're still running a lot of honeymoon ladies around in our heads but we're leaning towards somewhere south (we're in Canada), something all inclusive and something that is not anywhere in Mexico.

My fiance is into cigars so I'm sure there are possibilities between Dominican and Cuba that he would like.  I like beaches myself but excursions are not a bad thing in my books.  What we want most is to kick back and relax.  We don't really have a firm budget on this but the sky is not the limits here either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • P*nta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Espectacular beaches and nothing to do but drink and relax   ;)
  • Highly recommend The Majestic Elegance Resort in P*nta Cana. We went for our honeymoon back in August and it was absolutely phenominal! You owe it to yourself to at least check it out!

  • You should email my travel agent Dalia. She hooked us up with a great deal and a free upgrade, and suggested resorts that are nice and meet our requests but are within our price range. She could definitely help you with the Dominican; she got my friend a great deal there. Best wishes!

  • I agree that Punnta Cana might be a good match for you.  Check out Zoetry Agua - we stayed there soon after they opened and there were some snafus, but I am guessing they're resolved by now. All the rooms are beautiful but, if you can, book one of their higher end suites.  You'll have your own little backyard with a private pool and an outdoor shower and bathtub.  The beach there is very quiet and the resort is smaller, so there's no need to play the towel game for chairs, etc.  I also remember that they offered a cigar making class, but we didn't participate in that so I can't comment on it!
