No Honeymoon

 : /    Well our wedding isn't until 2013 but we already decided that we can't have a honeymoon. Both our daughter will be in school and we don't want them to miss out, Anyone have any suggestions for something other than a honeymoon?

Are you looking for ideas for how to make the wedding night special?  Because a honeymoon doesn't have to come right after the wedding.

Is it possible for you and your future hubby to get a nice hotel room that night while your girls stay with someone else?  Then later, if you both can find the time, you can go on a vacation, either just you and H or the whole family?

I know some parents can't or don't want to leave their children and go off on a honeymoon alone, so they often choose just to take a fun vacation all together.  If the children are old enough, there may be activities they can do while you and H have time alone.  

Otherwise, if possible, maybe your girls can spend a week with a family member over the summer or something while you and H go away.

I see you are getting married September 14th. Why not take the rest of the weekend together at a nice hotel/B&B at the nearest major city (while someone else watches the girls), and then all of you go on a nice vacation during the christmas holiday since it's only two months later. I'm thinking either Disney or a caribbean island???

why not plan one for when the kids aren't in school?

I'm not sure why daughters in school would be an issue?  Can you not travel with out your kids?  I thought a HM would be a time for the newlyweds not children...but in any case you can either do a weekend getaway, one night in a hotel/B&B, Disneyland (to take kids), or plan a little later in your marriage.  Not everybody has a HM but I would at least suggest getting away with out the kids for at least a day or two.

We are going to disney but a honeymoon does NOT have to include the kids, do you have parents or siblings that can watch them for a week & go away yourselves? Otherwise have an anniversary trip the following summer.

All of those are really good ideas. When our wedding happens, our oldest will be in 2nd grade and our youngest will be in kindergarten. Plus our oldest is in Girl Scouts. I think that the summer vacation as a family sounds like a great idea. I don't know why I didn't even think of that. That wThanks so much!
