MELDIVES ANYONE??

SO WE ARE TRYING TO DECIDE WHERE TO TAKE OUR HM WITH A $6000 BUDGET. OUR DREAM HM WOULD BE ON THE MELDIVES ISLANDS PREFERABLY AT TEH HILTON CONRAD RESORTS.....IS THIS EVEN REMOTELY POSSIBLE WITH SUCH BUDGET OR ARE WE JUST DREAMING AND SHOULD BE LOOKING AT SOMEWHERE ELSE?...HELP!!!

It's the Maldives and no, you probably cannot make it there on $6K. The airfare alone will be close to $2K per person. Most people who travel there spend around 1.5-2 weeks since it takes almost two days to get there. Even at $500/night, which is a pretty darn good deal, you're looking at $3500 for 7 nights in just hotel accommodations and then the $4K or so in airfare. We're planning on heading there next year for our first anniversary (we're not married just yet) but we'll be using FF miles to cover the air.

For $6K and something different, check out the Cook Islands, Fiji, or even Tahiti (Moorea only). You may be able to get a week at one of those places depending on the level of accommodations you choose and the time of year.

Thank you soo much ..that certainly helps...i told the better half i didnt think that was possible..i'll def. have us check out those other islands. Maybe we'll make it a 5yr anniversary gift to us.
