Couples or Sandals!

I have read EVERYTHING there is online about the two and can't decide which to go with.  It looks like the Couples Resorts (CTI in particular) offer more with tours, horse back riding, etc, but Sandals has more of a night life? My FI and I are very much people people :) and don't want to be bored at the Couples, but it has the better offers and better inclusions it looks like! HELP US! TIA!

  • I have never been to Sandals, but I went to Couples Negril a little over a yr ago. It was awesome! The nightlife was pretty low key, but there definitely people partying well into the night at the bar. Also, you can also leave the resort- a club nearby called the Jungle is supposed to be great, but we were usually wiped out in the evenings and just hung out in the hot tub/pool with our drinks ;)The highlight of our trip was night snorkeling- it was so cool!!And the sunset catamaran/booze cruise was really fun too.
  • We are going to Couples Negril.  I had the same questions in the beginning, but now feel confident we made the right decision.  Just another thing however, if you want the beach, I would look at Swept Away or Negril.  CTI is beautiful, but doesn't have that nice long stretch of beach like the ones in Negril.  Good luck!
  • I asked my travel agent this.  Here is what she said. Couples:  More European, will see ladies on beach with no top as they do in Europe.  Service is slower because of the European way.  They are in no hurry.  More low key.  A dinner can last 2 hours. Sandals:  More Americanized.  Faster service since it seems like Americans are always on the move.  If you are a picky eater, Sandals has a variety of food that you would be more used to.I think she said Couples tends to have more of the local food?  Not sure. They both are nice, it is all depends on what you and your FI want!
  • Our friends who stayed at Couples said they had a good time but the rooms were not that nice. I think it depends on what you are looking for. They are an active couple and always wanted to be on the go. My fiance and I want to be pampered, float in the ocean, lay by the pool and eat yummy food. We are leaning more towards Sandals in Negril.
  • I went to Couples and loved it. There was plenty to do, and the piano bar was opened late.
  • Just got back from Couples Negril and loved every second. Scuba diving was amazing and the highlight of our trip. great food, great room, had so much fun! we are huge socializers and 23 and had a blast.
  • We just got back from our HM to Couples Swept Away...it was perfect. There was such a variety of food, and it was all so good. You definitely won't be bored there. You can do as much or as little as you want. We went parasailing, snorkelling, on a catamaran cruise, beach bon fire...many, many different things. Our room was nice, a beachfront verandah suite. The bathroom wasn't what I thought it'd be but it had the basics. I'd definitely go Couples on this one...Sandals resorts are way too commercialized!
  • I also just got back from Couples Negril and loved it. The nightlife wasn't much, but I guess it appeals to the masses. Regardless, I wasn't looking to spend much time with anyone but the hubby :)The food was awesome, and the rooms were fine too. The floors are tile, but that's all you can have when it is that humid. If I were to go back to Jamaica I would pick a Couples Resort hands down (plus no kids there).
