Hyatt Aruba

Has anybody stayed at the Hyatt Aruba?? We're going on August 23rd the day after the wedding.  Any suggestions on what to do, or feedback about the resort?? TIA!

Re: Hyatt Aruba

  • My family and I went there a few years ago and we LOVED it.  The lobby is an open air lobby with really comfortable chairs.  If we ever couldn't find my dad, he was there.  They also have a water slide just for hotel guests and beach access.  We did go into town one day, but spent most of our time on the beach or at the pool.

  • We didn't stay there, but we walked through.  It looked gorgeous!

  • We visited the Hyatt for a site visit - we're getting married in Aruba in October. They have the BEST pool! I saw a travel channel special that rated them one of the 10 best resorts in the Caribbean. You might check out their website to see if you can find the video or writeup. In Aruba I am all about the beach, pool and sailing excursions. There are also jeep tours you can do. Downtown isn't close by (10-15 minutes by cab) but there is some lively night life (a little too lively and loud for me). Tuesdays they have "Carnival" downtown but I haven't seen it yet. There is also a party bus and party boat cruises if you're looking for that kind of action. The resort is stunning -- only downer is the lack of balconies -- they have 'standing balconies' - at least most of the rooms. You might have a honeymoon suite with a real balcony. =) Best pool we saw though! I think my photographers will be staying there during our wedding. And hey - I am from Michigan too - Grand Rapids, but I've spent plenty of time in Ann Arbor while my mom was in the hospital there. Don't miss the hospital but I miss Zingermans.Have fun!
