Thinking about the Maldives...

My fiance and I are thinking about the Maldives for our HM. We will have plenty of time to make the long trip and be able to enjoy our time there, but have not really heard anyone's personal experience or info. Has anyone heard anything about the Maldives? Or know anyone who's been?

    DH's BM went this summer and stayed in one of those over-the-water cabanas. They had to take a small plane to get from the international airport to the resort... He said it was beautiful, but of course once you're out on the resort island you're stuck there and there's not much to do but laze around on the beach. That's all I know!

    Does anyone know any flight info on getting to Maldives? can you combine it with a trip to europe? I cant seem to find good info. Maybe its best to call a TA.
