Secrets Maroma - Preferred club worth it?

We're looking to book Secrets Maroma for our honeymoon in May 2010. We're trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade to the preferred club level. The most important thing to us is to have an ocean view room. You can get a full ocean view room with or without the preferred club status. I'm not sure if we would take advantage of the preferred club extras, or if it would be a waste of money. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated?

I think it really depends what you are looking for. Some amenities that I really liked with the Preferred Club was the pillow menu, the private lounge that served breakfast every morning and snacks in the afternoon, free internet access and a nicer mini bar. If any of those things appeal to you, I would definitely do it.

We went on vacation to secrets maroma earlier this month and we upgraded to a preferred club room as soon as we got there. The preferred clubs rooms are all in the buildings closest to the beach. The non-PC rooms may have had an ocean view, but it is definitely much better in the preferred club room! Plus you get the little tub on the balcony You may want to book the regular ocean view room then wait until you get closer to your date or until you get there to upgrade! If you upgrade when you arrive, they might give you a good deal since you will be on your honeymoon. Hope that helps!
