Cruise Insurance?

My FI and I are planning to go on a cruise for our HM to the caribbean.  Our wedding is in July and we are going to book it within the week.  Is insurance worth it? Anyone that has gone on a cruise whether honeymoon or not can respond.  and include how long before the cruise did you book it? Please!TIA!!!

check on the terms and exclusions of the insurance. is it offered from the cruiseline? see if it includes airfare (if you're flying to the port). if you want to compare iwth other policies i've used insuremytrip.com for ages and have been very happy with the variety of policies it offers.is it worth it? i guess it depends on the cancellation policy of the cruiseline etc.. i suppose the question is if you hav to cancel can you get all of your $ refunded. if not can you afford to lose the $ for the trip?

My FI and I went on a cruise in August. We booked it in March. We bought the insurance through the cruise line, mainly because we went during hurricane season and if our flight was delayed they paid for us to get another flight to "catch up" with the ship at the next port. I think the insurance was around $100 total, so I thought it was totally worth it "just in case". We had an ocean view room and they were almost all booked by March, so I would book as soon as possible to get the room you want.

If you end up having to use it, trip insurance is downright cheap for what you get. It costs about $20,000 to be airlifted off a ship. How much of a gambler are you?

We got engaged in Aug on our Royal Caribbean cruise and we only booked about a month in advance (we got an ocean view room). If you are booking during high season then I would recommend booking it at least 3-4 months in advance bc you probably don't want to be in an interior room for your HM. You should definitely get the cruise insurance! A few years ago my family and I were suppose to be on a cruise for Christmas time and our flight got canceled! Now if you don't have cruise insurance and you missed your cruise then you are pretty much SOL. Also it's better if you book your flight for arrival the day before your sail date just in case some thing happens like what happened to me.
