Valentin Imperial Maya vs. El Dorado Royal

Can anyone who has been to either of these places please give me their pros and cons. We are having a difficult time deciding between the two. VIM has a beautiful beach but it doesnt seem to have a lot of night life or open air beachy type things. El Dorado seems to have the open air beachy stuff but also has sand bags all over their beach... Any suggestions or advice would help! THANKS!

    My fiance and I are trying to book our honeymoon for April. We have narrowed down our choices to El Dorado Royal and Valentin Imperial. I have read that the food is better at EDR but that the beach is better at VIM. I have read many mixed reviews of both so the decision has been very hard. If anyone has been to both I would love to hear feedback! Thanks!
