Honeymoon!

We booked the first part of our honeymoon! I'm so excited. We're going to Mauritius for 6 nights and then going on a safari in South Africa, but we have only booked the Mauritius part. Here's the hotel: http://lesaintgeran.oneandonlyresorts.com/

I felt like we were lagging behind based on some other posts I saw, but I still feel like this is really early to book. What about you guys? How many of you have already booked your honeymoons and if so, where?

  • looks beautiful!!  We're still debating on ours! =)
  • My FIL wants to book ours in the Cayman Islands, as his gift to us.

  • We are booking our plane tickets in January, the travel agents here have great deals for the US (flying from Belgium) in that month. I'll start booking hotels after that. We're going to Oregon and Washington.

  • That sounds amazing! We just started looking at destinations for our HM.  I think we made the decision to do 10 days in Hawaii!! Now just gotta figure out everything else.

    Anniversary
  • We booked our HM this past September as soon as the flights came out and I am glad we did because the airfare has gone up $200 since then.  We are going to Aruba.  If you have the money booking early is a good idea.  7 months out is really not that far in advance.  I know a lot of us on here already have ours booked.

  • We are doing a 9 day trip in October 2012.

3 days in each, Charleston, SC
                              Savannah, GA
                              Disneyworld

We have already booked our flight to Charleston and our hotel stay there.  I plan to book the rest after the new year.
  • Just booked ours last week (: 8 days in St. Lucia and 5 days on Hilton Head Island in SC. Probably will go to Charleston for a few days as well because FI still has an apartment there (he graduated from the college of charleston).

  • Sounds good we are going to the Poconos for 3 days and maybe go to Ocean City for 2 we decided to stay close so if an emergency happens we can return quicly
  • That looks beautiful and sounds AMAZING!  I would love to do a safari in South Africa, too!

And I don't think it's too early to book.  We're going to Bora Bora for a week. We booked our hotel in July (hotels can usually always be cancelled at no charge if need be) and we booked our flights 2 weeks ago.

  • My parents just came back from a safari in South Africa! Let me know if you need ideas! They set up their trip with Borton Overseas. I also went on a safari with my dad in Kenya and Tanazia when I was 15 (also through Borton Overseas). I LOVE the animals in Africa!!!

We booked our honeymoon back in September! Because we knew what we wanted and we're going to Maine and it will be during the lobster festival and a lot of hotels are booked up to a year in advance so we decided to do it right away and we got everything we wanted!

  • Bridetobe - Your hotel is amazing!!!! I will show FI these pictures and hopefully we can go back to Africa for an anniversary.

We are staying in West Africa at the Obudu Mountain Resort. We have taken several beach vacations so we decided to do something different for the honeymoon. Here is the site

I almost have enough frequent flyer miles to take care of the flights. Hopefully I'll book everything in February.

Us too! We really wanted to do something different. Your hotel looks awesome too!

Thanks for all the support, everyone. I felt like I was being a nag to Fiance by asking him "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BOOK?!" nearly every week. At least now I feel validated :)

And Mekia - Where did your parents stay? We're looking into a few of the AndBeyond properties like Dulini and Exeter River Lodge.
