Secrets Resort St. James/Wild Orchid

Hey everyone!

I am having a hard time picking our honeymoon destination and was wondering if anyone has been to a Secrets Resort and how you liked it? More specifically I am looking into St. James or Wild Orchid and wondering what the difference is between the two.

From what I heard from tripadvisor.com and our travel agent, those two resorts are still very new and have a lot of kinks to work out. We're getting married in June and were told not to go.

I've heard good things about the Secrets resorts in Mexico, but I personally wouldn't go there now.

I just got back from here last week, and LOVED it.  St. James and Wild Orchid are on the same property - just different decor.  They "upgraded" us from SJ to WO, but I couldn't tell the difference, other than the fact that the WO rooms were closer to the main strip of restaurants.  We enjoyed most of the food, loved the drinks, the beaches were beautiful, they have all kinds of activities every day (snorkeling, games, etc).  We arrived Monday, and didn't even leave the resort for a tour or anything until Thursday.  I wouldn't change a thing about our trip, and highly recommend the resort (either one) to everyone.

That said... I've never stayed at an all-inclusive, so I have no comparison.  Also, in Jamaica as in any island, you have a much more laid-back, no-worries attitude... when you go in expecting that from the staff, it makes a big difference.  They don't get in a hurry, so as long as you don't either, you'll be fine!
