Honeymoon booked for Hawaii -- advice, must sees, things to do?

My fiance and I have booked our honeymoon in Hawaii. We will be spending one week on the big island of Hawaii and the second week on Kauai. We will be going for the last few days of September and first week and a half of October. Since we won't be there too long I want to make the most out of our time. For anyone who has been here what are the best things to do here or things that are worth skipping? We're big beach people so best beaches are helpful. We also want to see some volcanos, do some hiking and a helicopter ride. Also we enjoy good food so any recommendations for great local spots or cute / can't miss restaurants/food areas would be appreciated :)

Thanks so much! Kiss

Lindsay

On the BI, I highly recommend doing the night manta ray dive/snorkel.  Almost every dive company in Kona does it, so you have options, but we did all our dives with Big Island Divers.  They do a snorkel option if you aren't certified, but it's definitely worth it.  Check out videos on Youtube to see what it's like.

My inlaws did a helicopter tour of the volcanoes, which depending on the lava flow, may be the only way to see it.  There's a local radio station I think that updates on where the current flow is.  When we were there, the visible flow was quite a hike and wasn't technically in the state park, so we didn't get to see it.

On Kauai, check out Captain Andy's tours of the NaPali coast.  We did the dinner cruise and it was beautiful, but definitely take something for sea sickness.  Neither my H or I have had issues with it before, but the water was pretty rough in some areas and we both got a little queasy (not as bad as some other people, but I would have taken something if I'd known).

We also really enjoyed the ATV tour on Kipu Ranch.  They film a lot of movies there, it's also owned by the family that was the basis for the movie The Decendents, and it's just plain beautiful there.

If you get a chance, eat at the Hukilau Lanai restaurant, I think it's between Kapaa and Lihue.  They have the best lobster bisque ever, and great fresh sea food.  Also, I really enjoyed the Smith Family Luau.

We did a sunset/stargazing tour of Mauna Kea on the Big Island. It was fantastic. The view is amazing and seeing all the stars was awesome. That was probably one of our favorite things.

We drove to Volcanoes NP (we stayed in Waikoloa) and planned on spending awhile there doing the Crater Rim Drive, but it was closed due to volcanic activity. Make sure you check their website to see if anything is closed down.

We also did a Kohala waterfall tour/hike. That was al ot of fun and we got to swim in a waterfall at the end. It isn't an intense hike by any means, but it was well worth it for us.

We actually did both of those tours with Hawaii Forest and Trail and they picked us up at our hotel (and do lots of pickups on the Kona side), but I don't think they do any Hilo side pickups so it depends on where you are staying.
