lingerie?

So...I'm not sure if this is even the right board to post this on...but I want my fiance to pick out some lingerie for me for our honeymoon.  How on earth can I do that?  I've tried some on before (not much though) and I know you can't really just go by size without trying it on first.  Any suggestions as to how to do this?  Also...I really would love it if he could find something without having to go into an awkward store or online(with pics of naked women way hotter than me).  Any ideas on that too??

Re: lingerie?

  • Why can't he go on the store or look online? Yes the ladies look good, but that's not what he will be thinking about when he picks something out -- he will be thinking of you.

I'd tell him to shop at a store you normally shop at like VS & say get me a slip in a size small or underwear in a size small. Bras can be tricky sometimes so he may want to stay away from that. Also you can always exchange it for something that does fit.

If you are really worried go with him & when he finds something he likes try it on in the store to make sure it fits.

  • Have him go online to VS that's what my dh does. He knows my size and he knows what styles I like so he just goes on and buys me stuff.
  • I will say that VS does not carry a very wide range of sizes AND their salespeople are often willfully misleading about what size you wear if they measure you, simply because they have a smaller range than most other lingerie places.  First, I would recommend that you get sized in a department store or speciatly lingerie store so you know what size you actually are.  Then there shouldn't be any guesswork about whether or not a bra will fit you.  Something like 70% of American women wear the wrong bra size, so if you've never done this, go do it!

I think it might be a good idea to first show him or discuss what you like- maybe you hate teddies but love nightgowns, don't like sheer balconet bras but love a good full-coverage push-up, hate red but love black.  This will help give him some guidelines so he doesn't get overwhelmed.  From there, just send him to a store!  Believe me, he won't be thinking about anyone but you in the lingerie he's looking at, and the salespeople will be very helpful as they are plenty used to having men come in alone.

  • i dont know of any lingerie store that has bad looking models-it's bad for business.

  • In our town we have nice upscale lingerie shops that you can actually view the items and see the actual item. They are speciality shops and not like ordering on line.
