With the post about Step Moms and how you feel about them, I'm looking for advice for how to be a good step mom. My Fi has an almost 3 year old daughter that will be my step-daugther once we are married. She is sweetest and most adorable little girl, she melts my heart. I met her when she was 18 months, so I feel like that is beneficial as she will grow up always knowing me and her dad together. I had no part of breaking my FI and his ex up, so that is nothing she could never hold that against me either. So many of my friends have horrible relationships with their step mothers and I really want my relationship with her to be different. My parents and my Fi's parents are still married, so I have no clue about this. It's such a fine line as I'm expected to do things for her and love her as her mother, but don't get credit for being her mom and must respect that boundary. Any advice on how I can be a good step mom from your experiences or what you wish your step mom would have done differently????
