Anyone stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres?

My fiancee and I were looking at the Excellence Playa Mujeres as well.  I heard that if you are looking for a more social atmosphere that caters to a more "spring break" crowd, then this is a good hotel for you.  My fiancee and I are looking for a quieter and less social place and decided not to stay there.  I hope that helps.

Oh no, really? It's more a "spring break" kind of place? That's definitely not what we're looking for. I'll have to let FI know.

Wow, thats the first I have heard that about EPM. That surprises me! I have heard that its out by itself and its mostly all honeymooners and couples celebrating their anniversary. I would definitely check TripAdvisor to get a better idea of what its like.

Took your advice GoBucks and there are nothing but amazing reviews on Trip Advisor. It is mostly honeymooners and couples, but I guess they tend to become social with each other poolside and at the restaurants and whatnot, which I don't mind.

For a bit I thought it was a bunch of rowdy college kids and that makes me nervous! I did Cancun in college and that was enough for me! hahaha

I am glad you got the information you were looking for, Sonita. My fiance and I had narrowed our HM search down to Execellence Playa Mujeres and Secrets Maroma Beach so I had done a ton of research. We ultimately decided on Secrets b/c I read that the beach is much better there, and my FI is a total beach bum.

We went to EPM for our honeymoon this past July and LOVED it.  It was in no way a spring break sort of crowd- we went for an ultra low key vacation and got exactly that. The main pool bar can play some loud music but that's really the only spring break sort of thing that goes on.  You'll love it- there's no way not to!
