Secrets Resort Maroma Beach

I think we have decided on Secrets Maroma Beach (I have heard wonderful things, and we really want to try out the swim up rooms) 

Just wondering if anyone had any other reviews of the resort or even having a swim up room.


Also, just curious if anyone was willing to share how much they spent?  We are looking at 7 days and are debating whether or not to pay extra for the preferred club?  Through AAA the package comes to about 4000 but if we find a better deal we would consider staying a few extra days.  Any advice is appreciated

I don't have a lot of time now but you can PM me if you need more info. The resort was awesome. I would never book a swim up suite. They didn't seem worth it. You don't get a view and the regular pool is way to nice to no go strait there. The preferred club was okay but not really worth it.

We just got back from there and absoutely loved it. We did not book a swim up suite. I think it is only worth it for the summer months. We had an ocean view, regular room. The food and staff were awesome. The beach was beautiful. We paid under 3700 for 10 nights/11 days, including airfare and airport transfers. The preferred suites look similar, are closer to the beach, but just have a nicer mini-bar and a lounge. I didn't feel like I was missing anything. We booked through Orbitz.

Thanks so much for the advice!  I think we are going to skip the prefered club, still undecided about the swim up rooms.  That is part of what we choose the resort for, but your opinions really helped!

I agree that Preferred Club isn't worth it...but I think the swimout is, depending when you go.

It was awesome to have a quiet & relaxing pool spot all to ourselves at the end of the day.  I also laid out and read there on the mornings I woke up before FI.

Thanks so much, I actually just read your review!  I think we are going to skip the PC but stay with the swim up.  We are going in July so I'm not too worried about the water being cold.  Even though we will give up the view, I think it will be nice to just jump in and hang out around the room.  Thanks so much!
