No Flying, no kids please!

One bad flight experience has made me completly FEAR flying!  I am totally okay with cruises! The problem is....My fiance and I are getting married in September, hurrican season! Also, my tolerance for children isn't exactly maternal yet, so I need a no-kid cruise/or other sugestion! I have no idea whaKisst to do with this honeymoon! Can anyone reccommend a SAFE KID-FREE cruise! Or someplace beach-y in the USA that we can even take a train? All suggestions are welcome! Thank you so much! (Wedding date is 9/10/11) Thanks dolls!

Carnival cruises tend to be a younger adult crowd, with less children.

  • I understand that.  If you're planning to socialize with other people on your HM, then those "older" cruiselines might not be the best option (Carnival is usually regarded as having more of a party scene, but you might run the risk of having more kids onboard).  My DH and I don't care about meeting other people when we're on vacation so that wouldn't be a problem for us.

You can give that a try. Or since you're from NJ you can always drive down to Florida, stay in Miami or the Keys even. Those are more adult-like than per se Orlando. For me though, it shouldn't really matter much who the people are around you. You will be on your honeymoon, all you need is each other! :)
  • An adults only all-inclusive resort is really what you need.  Something like Secrets or Sandals would be perfect.  However, you would have to get over your fear of flying.

I understand a bad experience can really make you fearful.  Hopefully at some point you can let go of the fear and start enjoying travel again.  Do you really want to be confined to the Continental United States for the rest of your life?  Just remember, planes are taking off and landing all the time all over the world.  Some people travel for business every day.  Its a very safe form of transportation statistically speaking.

Lots of luck in your planning and I hope you find something wonderful!Smile

  • this is all very helpful ladies! Thank you!
  • i have to disagree iwth the last post. i had the opposite experience: carnival had LESS kids and princess did an AWFUL job of keeping running screaming kids out of adult only areas. carnival did an exceptional job. i also felt the food and service were far FAR better on carnival.
unless you book an adults only cruise you can count on there being kids there.
