  • Judy,

Thank you so much for the gift card to BBB!  We can't wait to put it towards our new vacuum! We're in desperate need of one!!  Sorry you couldn't make it to the shower, but we're looking forward to seeing you at the wedding!

    Lisa,

Thank you so much for the crock-pot!  We will definitely be using it a lot!!!  It will definitely make our on the go evenings quicker!  Can't wait to celebrate with you and the rest of the family at the wedding!

  • One of the hardest thank you's to write was to FI's aunt for buying us sheets; it was so hard to think of something other than, "We can't wait to put them to good use," lol.  I think I ended up writing something lame like how much we loved the color.

I've been writting ours from both of us, since the gifts are for both us.   Occasionally, I write something personal if they were good friends of mine who I knew had something going on recently (like retirement, daughter's wedding, etc).

    But here's my general outline:

    Dear (gift giver),

Thank you so much for (insert gift here)!  We (something about how we will use the gift or that we are excited about it or if it's money/gift cards, what we might do with them).  I am so glad that you were able to make it to the shower!  (or if they didn't and sent a gift - "we missed you at the shower, but how thoughtful of you to send a gift! It is greatly appreciated").  We are anxiously awaiting our wedding day and the start of our life together as husband and wife.  We can't wait to celebrate with you at the wedding! (or "we hope to..." - if I hadn't recieved their RSVP; or "we will miss you at the wedding" - if they won't make it).

    Thanks again!

  • I wrote all my shower thank-you's from myself. I mentioned that FI and I can't wait to use "xxx" but signed the thank-you from myself. Did I do this wrong???

Yup, me too! I did sometimes say "Fiance is SOOO excited to use the waffle maker!" but I always signed it from myself. The shower was a bridal shower, not a couples shower. I don't think it matters, really, though. Just the TY that matters.

  • I did the same as lvissers, bmore, and bridetobe....included fiance's name like, "He is really excited about making paninis on the panini maker!" but just signed it love, butterfly. I thought baout what I should do, but decided that since the shower was only for me and the gifts had my name on them, that I would just sign the card. But like bridetobe I think the only thing that really matters is that the gift-giver gets a thank you :)
