Affordable Photographer/Videographer?

I was looking into the Pros because they have a really good deal, "The Simplicity Package" for $1995 for 8 hours of photography & video, and 4 hours of DJ services. However, after reading about them on here I am obviously willing to pay a bit more and actually get decent professionals. You can't go back and retake pictures or anything!

The few I have looked into so far are about $2000. My entire wedding budget is $15,000 and my venue is $3,500.

Who do you ladies recommend?

    I am using LT Photography (they are out of Wallingford).  My package is $2500 (idk if prices have changed, I booked them last year).  I get two photographers, all day/unlimited photgraphy, an engagement session, all rights to all pics, all pics on a CD & a coffee table photo albumn.. Good Luck, there is so many great photgraphers out there to choose from.

    That doesn't seem too bad at all especially for all day, 2 photographers AND engagement photos! I'll definitely look into them!

    I'm using Eric Brushett and he is amazing to work with and budget friendly. He also has always responded very fast via e-mail so I would check out his site and if you like his style e-mail him! www.ericbrushett.com

    My mother is driving me insane trying to get me to hire her friend's daughter as the photographer who is "self-taught" and is taking "her hobby to the next level by shooting pictures for others" and has never done a wedding. Just family pictures, maternity shoots, etc.

    Shut up mother. Huge difference between portraits and the photo-journalism, candid style I love.

    We're using John Loconte out of the Boston area and I highly recommend him (he will travel to CT). He is so talented and his prices are very reasonable. He's also one of the nicest guys we've ever met! http://johnlophoto.com/ 

    Brian Sullivan out of Long Meadow is also fantastic and affordable. His prices are on his website. As for videography, Dave Ladin at RIVideoPro offers very affordable packages and I've heard a lot of good things about him. www.rivideopro.com.
