Hi Lades!

I need your advice. So my guy and I are going for the tasting soon for costal gourmet and I was curious to which package you ladies had chosen for you past weddings. Was the food good? Is there anything you recommend? I would love to get any type of feedback, good or bad!

    I thought the food was great!
    We ended up going with the grilled bistro filet (we sampled it as a cold app at the tasting, which was also delicious); sauteed boneless breast of chilcekn; stonington sole fillets (my fav); and grilled eggplant & roasted garlic terrine (SOOO good and much different than I expected).

    And then I think we did this for passed apps:
    Honey mustard scallops wrapped in bacon
    Vegetable Spring Rolls with Plum Dipping Sauce
    Bon Fire Chicken Skewers with Great Hill Bleu Cheese Sauce
    Sun Dried Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella Bruschetta
    Colossal Shrimp Cocktail with Spicy Cocktail Sauce or Lemon Caper Aioli

     I don't think we had a specific package name. Maybe because we were originally under the Sodexo contract before they switched to Coastal Gourmet. But we did use Coastal Gourmet (so glad they switched to them!!).

    We also had mini pastries, choc. covered strawberries (sampled at the tasting as well) and cookies. There were none leftover

    Coastal Gourmet catered my wedding - I did a customized package, we had:

    Hors d'oeuvres:
    -Lobster bisque sippers
    -Tuscan chicken bundles
    -Seared ahi tuna
    -Scallops wrapped in bacon
    -Baked stuffed mushrooms

    Caprese salad

    Entrees:
    -Grilled filet mignon
    -Stonington Sole
    -Statler breast of chicken with lobster buerre blanc

    Everything was delicious!!

    I'm not a River Room bride, but I just got married at Coastal Gourmet and the food was outstanding - all my guests raved about it.

    I don't think they really stick to the designated packages anymore, because they pretty much let us do whatever.

    We had passed and stationary Hor d'oeurves
    I think we had:
    Hot Crab Dip with Crostinis
    Seasonal Vegetable Crudites with Roasted Garlic Tomato Basil & Hummus dip
    Sun Dried Tomato & Frush Mozzarella Bruchetta
    Asian Duck Spring Rolss with Orange Wasabi Cream
    Harissa & Honey Grilled Shrimp with Lime Creme Fraiche

    We had a Caesar Salad with bread for pre-dinner

    For dinner choices we had all four options of Chicken, Steak, Fish, Vegetable (and for the 1 baby we had there, we had a kids meal of Macaroni & Cheese) - all served with Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Seasonal Vegetables with Balsamic Splash
    Grilled Angus Flank Steak with Tomato Soy Marinade
    Sauteed Boneless Chicken Breast in a Shitake Mushroom, Leek, and White Wine Ragu sauce
    Stonington Sole Fillets stuffed with Crabmeat and Leeks in a Lobster Beurre Blanc
    Grilled Portobello Stack with Seasonal Vegetables, Fresh Mozzarella, and Tomato Coulis

    We just had our cake for dessert - Mystic Market East did it and it was so tasty!

    The group tasting was a lot of fun, but it sounds like you're doing a private tasting (we didn't have our group tasting until February for all 2011 brides).  We LOVED the stuffed sole so much it's what we chose for our own meals (and I'm not much of a seafood person!) so I would highly recommend that.

    Hello Everyone,

    My fiance and I are getting married in the RIver Room in February! (eeks)

    Did any of you take any indoor photos anywhere?

    Also, ANY suggestions about the place itself would be welcome!

    Who did your flowers?

    Any recommendations for photographers or make up/hair?

    Anyone ever do the stations? I'm doing stations and it's so hard to choose!!!

    I am trying to decide between stations and sit down....I guess I will just decide at the tasting. 
    I am getting my flowers from Saybrook flower shop. And my photographer is Linsday Vigue Photography. Makeup is Tiffany Hall-Scarmana.
