We finally got our pro-pics back (due to our own error, not the photographer's)!!!

    Thanks, everyone! :)  We're so excited to be able to share them!

    Calindi - we kind of just made it up as we went along lol...DH figured since we had our wedding at the Seaport, and we wanted to go with a semi-nautical theme, how cute would be it if we "tied the knot" by tying a knot lol (surprisingly, DH came up with the cutest ideas for our wedding - The Knot, the message-in-a-bottle placecards, the sailboat table numbers)

    So when he came up with it I started researching knots (he just wanted to make one up, I thought that would be to complicated since we would have to tie it for ourselves in front of everyone I didn't want to fumble around too much with it).  I found the True Lover's Knot description on Wikipedia (it's also just a simple Fisherman's Knot) and it was perfect (2 ropes intertwined to make one knot, it's a very strong knot, historically lover's tied the tree branch into this kind of knot and it was a symbol of the strength of their love). 

    As far as wording for the ceremony goes, I tried researching online, but I got a lot of stuff for handfastings (a lot of celtic and pagan weddings do these handfastings, but we didn't really want to go that route).  Our JP came up with the wonderful wording to incorporate the unity ceremony into our overall ceremony.  We basically just told him we wanted to do it "in the spirit of the Seaport/in the spirit of nautical something or other" and he did the rest....

    And we used white nylon twisted rope - DH got the boat store (West Marine) to cut him 2 1 foot lengths of it the day before the wedding lol

    All of your photos are beautiful. Congratulations!! Where at the seaport did you have your reception? we are thinking about the boat shed and are worried about what we will do if it really rains. Any thoughts?
