20 Days! Aaaah!

I feel like I haven't posted on here in weeks, because I have just been SOO busy! I have 20 days left until my wedding, and last week I lost my job. Needless to say, I have a lot to keep me busy! Every day is filled with job hunting and wedding planning. I'm busier than ever, and I'm not even employed!

I figured I would just put out a post for some advice, as I'm getting closer and closer to the big day. Any advice for last minute things to do? I have all of my final meetings setup with the vendors, final fitting is booked, etc etc...but I figured I would ask if I'm missing any small details that past brides have overlooked..?

Make lists (of things you need to do in the next few weeks or bring the day of) and have them handy so you can add things to it as you remember.

Don't forget your accessories, place cards, programs (if you're having them)... and all the random items for your venue.... toasting flutes, cake cutting set, candles, favors?

Have contact info for all your vendors ready, just in case you need them.

If you have time, try to go on at least 1 date per week with your FI to remember what the day is really about.  We did this and it helped keep me sane :)

Don't worry about the small stuff. Little things that I thought were so important during planning ended up meaning nothing at all on the actual day! Your day will be beautiful regardless because you'll be marrying the man you love and sharing it with great people. And if one small thing isn't right, no one wil notice but you.

Your day will be here before you know it!!

  • I agree with everything Mona8 said.  Make lists of what you need to do to keep organized.  Don't worry about the small stuff, on the day you may notice some small detail that you do, but the guests will not notice if it is there or not, so do not stress about it.

Definitly try to get a date night in with your FI and take the time on your wedding day to be with each other and take it all in
  • I agree with PPs- I love lists! But most importantly- find time to be with FI and enjoy his company! Even if that means job hunting together, make spending time with each other a priority

  • Thanks for your suggestions ladies! I have been keeping a running list of "to-dos" and things that I need to buy/pick up before the wedding. I put it on the "notepad" in my iphone and ipad....so convenient! FI and I had a "day date" yesterday and tonight we are making dinner and designing our programs. I agree, finding time to get away and have date nights is definitely important. As the big day approaches, we are really enjoying every moment we spend together, I think its because we are both realizing what this whole wedding is all about! It's so funny, I pictured the weeks before my wedding to be this amazingly organized and relaxing time in my life...HA! They say that things seem to get very calm right before the wedding day...I'm definitely feeling that. It's very liberating to just stop worrying about things so much!
