Where did you buy your shoes?

I'm looking to buy my wedding shoes sometime soon so I can start to put everything together. However, I can't find any.

I looked in David's Bridal on Friday, and the service was horrendous (I got my dress from there and everything was great then; I don't understand the problem that day). They didn't have ANYTHING in my size for me to try on, and I'm not going to blindly order online, especially since the consultant told me one of their shoes runs a full size too big.

/end rant

FWIW, I'm looking for either plain ivory heels that I can DIY decorate, shiny navy blue pumps, or already decorated really pretty heels of any other color. Not specific or anything, I know. ;) Where did everyone buy their wedding shoes?

Does the Bridal Mall in Niantic have a decent selection?

  • I got mine at Nordstrom in the West Farms mall (I tried to find them on the nordstrom website but apparently they are only available in the store...so unfortunately I don't have a pic for you). But I think they might be along the lines of what you're looking for....they are a simple, ivory peep-toe wedge heel. They have no embellishment which I like, because i'm going to add my own DIY embellishments (probably silk flowers or something like that). They were affordable too, only 45 bucks! There are some other cute choices on the Nordstrom website.

I also tried Davids, DSW, Famous Footwear...none of those places had any good bridal shoes (in my opinion). I found the best ones in dept stores like nordstrom and Macys. Happy shoe shopping!

  • I agree with PP- check department stores. Macy's had a good selection, I also had some luck at Nordstroms. I still havent 100% decided on my shoes either!!
  • It is getting close to prom season so more options should be in stores soon too!

  • I got mine at DSW.  Definitely great for wide variety of shoes!

  • I got mine online at Katespade.com. They are the Kate Spade "Best".

  • Bridal shoes are a long way off for me, but I'm probably going to order from Zappos.  Free shipping to you and back to them if you need to return.  can't beat that deal.
  • Thanks to all!

Vanessa and Whitney, both of your shoes are gorgeous!

I'm definitely thinking a trip to West Farms is in order. I love any excuse to go there. :)

  • I didn't know there was a bridal mall in Niantic! Good to know..lol. I would try DEB in waterford. As a PP said, it's becoming prom season. DEB is good price wise, and I adore their shoes, especially their heels. I haven't yet chosen my own shoes to go with my dress yet, lol, but hopefully that helps..
