Photographer HELP!

Hey Ladies,Sooo, it's that time where we are beginning to look into photographers and I need help! My FI and I have spoken to a few and keep falling in the price range of 2500-3500. He feels like this is ALOT and I am kind of unsure of this is the norm. I am wondering who and how much you guys are spending to help me get a better understanding of the "norm". We are trying to be financially concious of course, but at what point do we need to realize what is normal versus unreasonable?Anyone that has any suggestions and/or names of ppl they have or are going to use, I would so appreciate it!Thanks ladies!!!

The best photographers will generally be more then your range 3-4K to start or more.but I have seen a dramatic drop in prices on big names and a big range. Be so careful about hype, go to see the photographers in person and ask for a link to a full event.. Don't just take someone's word for it on a board or at a get together. I see so much hype for photographers and the reality of it is they have good prices and that's all, the quality is = to the price.

Personally, I think that the range you are hearing is about average.  That said, you can get some at a lower rate.  It depends on what you are looking for.  IMHO, it's the most important aspect of your day, so I'd recommend spending a little more here if you can and cutting back someplace else.  I'd highly recommend both http://www.lindsayshaw.com/# and http://amandarosephotography.com/.
