Re: help finding a honeymoon destination!!!

  • so that's the end of september right? prices are reasonable then. what do you want to do? beach? active? adventure? food?

  • Lots of places will fit what you are looking for:
Cancun, Playa del Carmen/Riviera Maya, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Aruba. I would also recommend purchasing travel insurance since September is part of hurricane season. Costco Travel has some great offers for all-inclusive resorts.
  • We're staying at an all-inclusive resort (Sugar Bay Resort) in St. Thomas, USVI. For 6 nights with flight & hotel we're spending about $2700. It may be cheaper in September (we're going end of April/beginning of May, which I believe is a high season.) I do think that Mexico can offer more bang for your buck and it was something we considered, but we don't have passports so USVI won in the end.

  • we're going to St John in October .  For 6 nights i think its a great deal and the views look beautiful.  The space is small but I plan on enjoying my vacation and not spending a whole lot of time at the cottage.

And you can easily take a ferry over to St Thomas to enjoy doing things over there too.  I've heard St Thomas is the more lively/nightlife island and St John is the more laidback island.
  • I booked an all-inclusive in Dominican Republic for 5 day, 4 nights with airfare for $2800. That's at the end of July. I like to plan vacations and stuff and I ended up going through a travel agent.
