Would a birdcage veil look stupid?

So I haven't bought a veil yet. FMIL has offered me hers, but ti's cathedral length, which I don't want. She's willing to cut it, but I feel bad about that given the fact that she has 2 daughters. Also I'm not even 100% sold on wearing a veil. I like the sassyness of birdcage veils but I am horrible with fashion, so do you think a birdcage veil would look good?dress:Hair front:Hair back:

I tend to think that birdcage veils look best with updos, but some people can manage them with their hair down. I think you definitely could because you have hair pulled back on both sides. What about a nice flower/feather fascinator? I think it would look really great on your right side (especially since if you are standing on the left during the ceremony!) I wasn't sold on  veil either - I bought a cheap one, but ended up nixing it the day of because of the wind and because it wasn't "me." I bought a flower off of Etsy from Tessakim - she makes some great stuff. Seller LoBoheme makes some great fascinators as well! GL!

First off you look great! Love the hair! I agree--I think the birdcages look better with updos--have you tried one on with your dress???

I'm having the save reservations and questions about wearing a birdcage.  I'm going to wear my hair up, but I'm just wondering if it'll seem too sassy or if I'll regret it in pictures years from now because it wasn't traditional enough.  My dress is definitely the type that would go well with one, but I just can't decide.  I think they're totally adorable though and add a little uniqueness.  It might be worth going into some shops and trying them on with your hair down.  Your style is one that you could at least somewhat recreate. Then take some pictures and see what you think!

Thanks ladies. I'll call the shop where I'm getting the alterations done and see if they have one so I can try it on at my next fitting. If they don't maybe I'll just scrap it...

I'm just not a fan of the bird cage look but i agree that i think a nice clip on the right side would look nice. Especially since your dress is cut to rise up on the right it would be a nice balance.

I love birdcages!! I've been looking on Ebay and toying with a DIY situation on them.
