Cupcake cake

We are having a cupcake cake, we didn't really plan it it just happened. We have only ever talked about it with the caterer, who is amazing so I am not worried about it in that sense. It supposedly is a tower type thing that holds 100 cupcakes. But my question is do you put a cake topper on a cupcake cake?

    I have seen pictures of cupcake cakes, and the one I saw had a small cake on top, thats what they put their topper in. I would ask your caterer, how it will be set up, see what their suggestion is on the topper.

    FI and I just want a cupcake cake! ... but our families aren't allowing that. So we're having a tower of cupcakes topped by a small cake on top. We'll also have two cakes on each side of the tower surrounded by other sweets. Our wedding topper will go on the cake.It's a cute idea! We were thinking of having cake balls, too! Yum!

    we did cupcakes for our cake.... and on top we had a small cake on top to cut... we didn't use a cake topper.... but if you wanted to have a small cake on top of your tower
