Tahiti Help/Advice for Honeymoon

Hey everyone!
My fi and I still cannot decide where we want to go for our honeymoon.  We will be going this year at the end of August/beginning of September.  I was told that the weather is perfect in Tahiti at that time, but we are also looking for all-inclusive resorts.  I dont know a single person who has ever been in the French Polynesian area or Tahiti at all so I could use some help!
First, are there all-inclusive resorts in tahit?
Where would you recommend going?
Any other advice about Tahiti?

Thanks for all the help!

Re: Tahiti Help/Advice for Honeymoon

  • I don't think there are any all-inclusive resorts in that area.( I could be wrong.) I did extensive research and all I could find were very small resorts, where everything was ala carte.

  • I've never heard of any AIs in Tahiti.  Have you and FI considered Fiji?  A lot of the smaller outer island resorts include meals and some activities in their pricing.  Some, not all, include alcohol.

  • Look into the Hilton on Moorea, an Island off the coast of Tahiti. And if you can, splurge for an over water bungalo!

  • I haven't been to tahiti but FI and I are planning to go for our honeymoon. I saw a couple pictures of bora bora and fell in love!

This site has a lot of useful information about different islands as well as different hotels to stay at.
  • There is no All Inclusive resort in Tahiti.
I think there used to be a Club med but they closed down.
Ditto girliinchicago: If you are looking for all inclusives, I think Fiji might have more options. Plus Fiji is also so beautiful!

We are going to Tahiti for our honeymoon in May and we are going to 3 islands: Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora.
Most hotels include breakfast only in the rate if you purchase them, but other meals and activities are additional.

If you are really considering going to Tahiti, most people recommend a couple days in Moorea and then a couple days in Bora Bora. And if the budget allows, stay on the overwater bungalow in Bora Bora.

We booked ours from costco travel and I was pleased with the package. But there are also some travel agents who are Tahiti specialists that can help you.
  • We are going to Fiji for our honeymoon and are working with a travel agent who has been great, if you want her info email me at jennyjac4 at yahoo.com

  • There are definitely not any all inclusives in Tahiti.

I'm going for my HM in May.  I've done extensive research on all islands.  We choose Moorea for 4 nights, Bora Bora 5 nights and Vahine Island for 3 nights :-)  Trip advisor help me determine my hotel picks!  Good luck

We booked a bungalow in Moorea for 7 nights through an Amex travel agent, and they were awesome. We're looking for relaxing and easy, so we didn't want to have the stress of travel or wasted travel days mid honeymoon. Also, Moorea is supposed to be a little quieter, which we prefer (we both get tired and bored at clubs). But I do hear that there's more to do touristy and night life etc on Bora-Bora if you like that sort of thing.
