I'm getting married there next Oct and one of my friend got married there a few years back. The place is beautiful and you can't beat the view of the lake. Food is also really good. They have two separate rooms(opposite side of the building) and you never see the other bride even if your wedding is going on at the same time. They have contract with Shelton Marriott so you get discount pricing for your rooms. I think if you are getting married in March you can definitely bargin with them with the price and maybe have them include some freebies. I know a lot of girls here are getting married or got married there so ask us if you have any specific questions.

I am not getting married there, nor have I been to a wedding there. But that was one of our stops in our venue search. It is very beautiful and I have heard nothing but good things about. The chandlers are amazing and grounds are very well kept. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I would also suggest checking out the River View (they are owned by the same people). Just as amazing. Personally I liked the River View a little more, just personal taste. The only down fall in my opinion is they usually have two weddings going on at the same time. They said that you wouldn't be able to hear the other one, but we were concerned with guests walking into the wrong side. I also didn't care for the wall they pull out to separate the two. Those were really the deciding factors for us. Other than that, they are great.

They were one of our venue options & I just loved them! The staff was excellent!! They were not willing to budge on price though & I wasn't loving the wall that was put up to divide the room! The venue is beautiful though! GL with your search!!

I'm getting married there in June 2011. Just like other people have said, The Waterview is gorgeous! When FI and I went to visit, everyone was super nice and they truly made us feel like we weren't "just another couple". We looked at lots of venues in both CT and RI, and The Waterview by far had the best bang for your buck.

The Waterview is beautiful but my mom had a bad experience with the food there. She works at a high school and attended a prom there when assisting a disabled student. Her student had ordered the filet mignon, and what they were served was a hunk of meat on top of some mashed potatoes. Granted this was a prom, so a lot more people to serve and probably not as top quality for the food but I've heard some mixed reviews about some of the food in the past.

I'm getting married there in May. It came as a recommendation from many former knotties. I've heard mostly good reviews about the food. The facility is gorgeous, we fell in love the second we walked in the door. I looked at both the Waterview and the Riverview. Personally, I think the river in the back of the Riverview is kinda gross, we liked the lake behind the Waterview much better. But, like I said, that's a personal opinion.GL!

One of my customers at work suggested that I check this place out as a venue. We e-mailed them Thursday night and they called us back yesterday and were very nice on the phone. We have an appointment to look at them next week. I later found out that my parents went to a company Christmas party here and they said it was absolutely wonderful. I, too, am getting married in March.. but not until March of 2012

  • can someone post about:

1). actually how much they were charged per person cost @ the Waterview?  when people say a good bargain or buck for the bang, I have no idea what $ they were talking about.

2). do you girls prefer east or the west side there?

3). any tips on what's good to order there? because they don't run a restaurant and nor food menus with pictures to look at, I don't know how to pick the appertizers and entrees.

    help!
  • Fridays are $105 pp Saturdays range around $125 pp and Sundays are $95 pp

West side has a larger grassy ceremony space. but it does face the parking lot. I loved the east side. Its more secluded and has a better view of the water.

I've been to  my prom and 2 weddings there, everything is great. I ordered the surf and turf once and salmon twice. yum!
  • My friend had her reception there a few years ago.  It rained so the ceremony was in a large room downstairs then we went upstairs for cocktail hour and reception.  It was beautiful! The food was great.  I love the open concept so everyone can celebrate together and not feel separated in different rooms.
