I would also love to hear everyones opinions. FI and I are going back and fourth as well! FI feels the first look takes away from the emotion of seeing me for the first time walking down the aisle.

We did a First Look. I wasn't sure if I would be disappointed but I'm SO GLAD we did.  We had plenty of time to take pics.  Walking down the aisle was still special.  And we were able to enjoy cocktail hour (along with all of our wedding party and their significant others).  Also, I thought the reception introductions would be weird since we would already have been chatting it up with people duirng cocktail hour, but intros were still fun.  We ended up having so much time to connect with all of our guests. Definitely worth it, in my opinion.

I got the idea from another knottie and I love it...you get to talk to your FI without seeing each other.

We're doing that, too!  But we are actually going to do a 'first look'.  I don't like the ones where one person is walking towards the other, but I think coming around the door will be fantastic.

I don't think it takes away from the emotion of walking down the aisle and for him seeing you walk down the aisle - I think that's emotional because it's "Wow, we're about to get married, that's the person I'm going to marry, holy cow this is really happening!"  Whereas the first look is private and personal, and like others said gives you the chance to take pictures beforehand so you can enjoy the time with your guests.
