African American Makeup (also hair if possible) in SE Connecticut

Hi Ladies, since you were all so wonderful and helpful when I was looking for a DJ, I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas where I can find a makeup artist who is used to dealing with AA skin (I am quite dark) in the Mystic Area. I am nervous that I will end up looking like a clown on my wedding day.

Sorry I don't have any recommendations but one thing you may want to do is contact the makeup artists that a lot of ladies on here have recommended and ask to see pictures of their works.  Maybe you can also ask for references.

I am using Sharyn Scully who is out of Shelton which I don't think is that far from Mystic.  Maybe you can try her.

I was looking for the same thing.... I have a trial set up with Janice at Naomi's in West Hartford in a couple weeks...I let them know in advance that I was AA... they use airbrush so they are able to match your skin really well.   I will let you know how it works out! Also, Crystal Rizor out of Norwalk is AA, and she travels.  I have a friend who used Beauty Beat Down and they did a really nice job on her and her bridesmaids as well.   Not too sure about hair thus far but I'm researching that as well... I will let you know if I find anything.  Hope this helps!
