videographer????

Hello ladies-

I rarely write on the message boards and I just recently realized what I was missing when I read through some of the posts! Everybody is so helpful!

I originally wasn't going to hire a videographer because it wasn't in the budget, but I'm thinking I'm going to regret it! Does anyone have any suggestions on who to use? I've looked into a few websites, but I'm so torn.

Thanks!

We're working with Fran Gagnon: http://www.gagnonfilms.com/
He was recommended by our photographer and was great to meet with!

I would also suggest asking your photographer. Usually, they know who the best ones are and if they work well together, it only makes the day go more smoothly.

    GL!

Hands down get a videographer! We are so thankful we have everything on video. Honestly, the day is such a blur and you don't get to see everything and having the wedding video is beyond worth it. Plus, still photos only show so much. When something emotional or funny happens, the video captures so much more.. the movements.. the sounds..etc.. plus you can choose to have some of your guests interviewed to talk about the bride and groom which was also great.

We used MJS Photography for both our photography and videography and got a great deal on a dual package with them. We've already watched our video several times and plan on continuing to do so.

I'm not sure what part of CT you're from, but I'm using Jamie Podworski (sp?) of JPod Productions - www.jpodproductions.com. My friend (whose BF used to be in the business) highly recommended www.imthegroom.com, but the prices are probably a bit higher.

Definitely get a videographer if you can fit it in your budget. We used Digital Media Odyssey. Matt Fink (the owner) is an absolutely AMAZING videographer and editor. Seriously, he's gifted. I wouldn't necessarily say he's cheap though either. If you go to his blog, you can see sneak peek trailers of weddings he's done.

Here's the Sneak Peek of our wedding video in case you'd like to see it.

We just booked Don from Vividography. For the price and what he offers, he was a great deal for us, and I loved the way he shoots his videos. We also looked at Fran Gagnon, Digital Media Odyssey and Inspiration in Motion.

I second Fran Gagnon!!! He certainly knows his stuff - we just booked with him for our October wedding and he filmed my sister's December '09 wedding. Her trailer is here: http://www.gagnonfilms.com/blog/?p=111

He spent about an hour showing us MANY different video clips he's created - SO impressed by the layering of all the elements of the day! He wirelessly mics the groom for the ceremony - and that mic only goes to his videocameras - he also mics directly right into the DJs music and microphone (if you 're having a DJ), so the quality is completely clear. And honestly, when FI and I decided to meet wtih him, we had a hard time even remembering what he looked like from my sister's wedding because of how unobtrusive his style is.

    Good luck!
