Honeymooning in Tennessee??

My FH and I are looking to travel to Tennessee for our honeymoon. We want a fun, rustic, secluded, cabin-type honeymoon. I've seen online about all the cabin resorts near the Smokey Mts. and I was just wondering if anyone else knew of any spots in TN that you'd recommend for our honeymoon??

We just visited Gatlinburg and stayed at Angel's Choice, in the Starr Crest Resort, through Dollywood Vacations.  The cabin was lovely and in a great location.  My only caution is that you said secluded though.  Most if not all of the cabin resorts are not secluded.  Each cabin sits on about 1/8 to 1/4 acre so you will see other cabins. The important thing is to make sure that the decks of the cabin, which is where the spa tub is located, face the trees and not the road running through the community.

The Starr Crest resort is in a great location so I would highly recommend staying there. Most of the cabins are rented through Dollywood Vacations or Sugar Maple though there are a couple other companies with a much smaller presence.  If you plan on visiting Dollywod or Dixie Stampede consider Dollywood Vacations b/c you do get a nice discount on tickets and better parking.

  • www.vrbo.com - vacation rentals by owner. That's where we booked our cabin ($450 for the week).
  • You could try down near Chattanooga by the Ocoee...there are more rustic cabins that would be more secluded and less in a touristy area like Gatlinburg.
