Wedding spot in or around CT

Hi! I am looking for a place to have a reception in CT. We are having a destination wedding and I am trying to find somewhere very affordable to have a reception when we get back. I do not like the typical "wedding venues" and I am most picky with the fact that I don't want a carpet... I know that sounds wierd. But I like the barn, house, farm, museum, etc idea. A lot seems to be booked up already for Sep/ Oct so any suggestions would be awesome! Thanks!

There are lots of cool places.  My planner found us a huge list of places that I just didn't expect, like Mark Twain House and a few other places.  You can call musuems and you might find a place.  Or contact someone for help.

I was at a wedding recently at Candlelight Farms Inn in New Milford. Very rustic, barns, horses, rolling hills and on the lake. It's so beautiful there!

Wickham Park... beautiful.  Try a Friday night or a Sunday evening and you will probably find an available date.  Msg me if you want to see pictures.

Cascade is a little more traditional, but it has hardwood floors!  I dislike carpet as well.  They are super affordable and extremely nice to work with!

Another cool spot is at the Beardsley Zoo.  Depending on the size they have several different halls to rent....my shower was there in the Victorian Greenhouse and it was beautiful!!

Im getting married at Wrights Mill Farm in Canterbury, check out their fb and amazing. I have heard nothing but great things about their weddings and food. They have their own bridal show in March. Curt is the owner and I have never had to wait more than an hour or 2 for him to respond to my emails. My friend and photographer also had their weddings and receptions there!
