Honeymoon in Vegas

We are honeymooning in Las Vegas. Yes, not traditional...but neither are we.
My question is if anyone has any restaurant suggestions, neither of us has been in the last ten years, and we want to do some fine dining. I was told the steakhouse in Paris, which is where we are staying is great.....but read online today that Gordon Ramsey bought it and is rebuilding. Any suggestions would be great!

Re: Honeymoon in Vegas

  • We're buffet people.  My favorite is the buffet at the LVH hotel (formerly the Hilton).  Best I've been to so far.

Avoid the seafood buffet at the Rio.  Seriously.  Cannot tell you how many horror stories I've heard about the aftermath of that buffet!

For lunch check out the crepery in Paris, too!  Delicious!

And don't forget to research the $20 trick and see if it works at your resort.  We go to Vegas so much they just comp our rooms now but back in the day the $20 trick worked 75% of the time.

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.

  • For fine dining, I recommend Le Cirque (Bellagio) and L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon (MGM Grand).
  • Highly recommend Prime in the Bellagio - amazing steak and seafood!

I love Mon Ami Gabi, which is the French restaurant in the Paris hotel.  You can sit outside on a deck across from the Bellagio fountains.  The food is great (I love the steak frites, french onion soup and escargot there), and reasonably priced for Vegas. Enjoy your trip!

For Buffets, we usually do either the Wynn or Bellagio, though I have been hearing good things about the buffet in the Cosmopolitan Hotel.  For burgers, we love the BLT Burger in the Mirage (they have the most amazing milk shakes there - both with alcohol and without).  Delicious!!

  • Not necessarily the most romantic restaurant in Vegas, but for the best best tapas, great mojitos and cocktails, and a fun atmosphere that's popular with locals and tourists, I HIGHLY recommend Firefly. It's just off the strip on Paradise Road, but it is totally worth it for a change of pace and a really awesome, enjoyable meal. I also went to Sage in the Aria last time I was in Vegas: great food, new American, a bit more formal, upscale and an awesome dining experience.

  • Another vote for Firefly! It's AMAZING. Try their bacon wrapped dates. So.good. And now I'm starving.

Another restaurant we loved is Nobhill Tavern at MGM. It had fantastic food, but the prices weren't quite as scary as some of the fine dining restaurants.

    It's quite good.

I like Mesa Grill in Caesar's, actually. I've also gone to Fleur de Lys at Mandalay Bay, but I hear it is now just called "Fleur" by Hubert Keller and has been redone a bit.
