Photographer Pricing?

Hi Ladies!
I am more of a lurker on here... I need to start participating more! I do appreciate reading all of your posts on here though and they have all helped me out tremdendously so far!

We have been going back and forth with photographers right now...
I was wondering who you are using, and if you don't mind saying, how much you are paying?  I have done some research and I guess we are looking for 7 hours the day of the wedding (I'd like some pics of me getting ready, the ceremony, formals with bridal party & then first dance, no dancing after that)...with E-pics.

A great photographer will charge you around $3500 - $5000 

Remember to ask for a disk with all your photos... very important! (at least for me!)

I am using Belle Amour photography. It is two photographers and they are both awesome. They have experience as well and they were the best i found for the price. They gave me no time limit on the day, they just do however long it takes. One goes with the girls whiole getting ready, the other with the guys, then they still til the end.

I'm using Matthew J. Wagner Fine Photography from Simsbury. Our package is costing us $4000. We are going to have 2 photographers for 10 hours, a disc of all the photos, an e-session, and a leather bound album. He's absolutely amazing and you can completely customize your own package.

It depends if you are looking to have 1 or 2 photographers, how many hours of coverage, disc with images, proof prints, or an album. I am using Kerry Long photography for 6 hours-just 1 photographer, 300-400 4x6 proof prints, and a disc with all the images-no watermark and rights to print myself and spending around $2400. Sassy Mouth has great packages starting at $1,400

Different photographers have different styles and how the pictures come out, I feel like the prices do reflect the pictures from the the photographers we looked at.....

Visual Obsession has packages in different rages and no time restriction with a lot of extras and always respond to any emails sent to them very quickly, that def won us over. They even send out little reminders they haven't forgotten about you when your ways away from your wedding like a box of chocolates, I guess that's what we're paying for but made me feel a lot more comfortable that we are being taken care of in a stressful wedding planning time lol!

Definitely check out Shannon (www.miapaigephotography.com), her work is awesome, she is SO sweet, and very affordable IMO.

Krisrae photography! Love them! For everything I wanted I am about about $5000 but I added on a few things. I think they started at about $3000 maybe a little less and it included an engagement session.

For the $5000 I am getting 2 photographers, 10 hours coverage, all photos on DVD and album, and a couple more things I just don't quite remember.

Check out Eric Brushett photography www.ericbrushett.com His packages start at $1,900 up to $3,300 BUT those prices include engagements and you can add other things a la carte to whichever package you choose. Additions are a second shooter (which is offered in some of the packages), a photo booth, and additional photo books. The thing you want to ask photographers is if you have to buy the prints through him/her or do you buy the rights to your photos. Some photographers charge less for the photography and then hit you with crazy printing costs down the line. Eric gives you the rights to the photos which is awesome!! He is an up and coming photographer in Ct. Grab him while his rates are low!!! Good luck!!

I agree.  I looked at a million different photographers and when push comes to shove, if you want 2 photographers for 8+ hours you're probably looking at $3500-4000.  Add another $800-1000 for a wedding album.

I am using Brooke Allison Photography and it is two photographers, 8 hours, engagement pics, all the pics on cd and online.  She is $2900 (i think she may have just increased her price a bit though).  She is amazing!

We are also using Tim from TAB photographic... he actually allowed us to give him our budget (about $2700) and told us what he could provide for that amount. We ended up taking all that he could offer, but Im sure he would have allowed us to remove certain things to bring the price down. We are getting I think 7-8 hours of coverage and it also came with an engagement session. Hes great -- lots of energy which is what my FI will need -- we're both pretty shy!

We used Catherine Fiehn her website is http:/www.catherinefiehnphotography.com  We changed our package like three times (upgraded) but ended up with two photographers full day, disks, 44 page flush page album and coffeetable engagement book for $4300.00 She has a lot of package that cost less but I wanted a flush album.

We used VIP Events, I think they are out of Norwalk. They also have a DJ, so we booked both and they gave a 10% discount.  I think photography alone was about $2500, that wasn't with an engagement session but we added one anyways since it seemed better to add it rather than go with the other packages, when we only wanted a dvd of the photos after. That was with two photographers. No album.
