My DH and I went there in December as a pre-wedding trip for 8 nights!! Its got stunning white beaches and amazing turquoise water but besides that, theres not much else to do but laze around, snorket, sail,, scuba dive, that sort of thing. The island is still in development and we found there was a definite lack of good restaurants and basically no shopping. Also you need to consider your budget. T&C is not cheap!! There are some amazing hotels if you have a big budget, then I think its worth it. But we allready decided we wont ever go back. You just pay through the roof for an island that has beautiful beaches but thats it. Zero culture, everyone that runs the hotels are American or British and some French. We much prefer the Southern Caribean for more of the culture, food, ambience, and just as nice beaches. St Johns-BVI is our fave. I would also consider St Lucia, its supposed to be amazing.
    Good luck!

We did not honeymoon there, but we had a great one week vacation in Provodenciales (Provo) in Turks & Caicos.  We stayed at the Grace Bay Club Resort -- ahhhh!  The sand is unbelievable.  It feels like baby powder.

There is a lot to do in Turks & Caicos, although we kept our comings and goings to a minimum.  Ours was a vacation to just be numb.  We had dinner at a different restaurant every night, each one very good.  Those recommendations came from locals we met at a harbor-side bar, where we went for lunch one day.

I just looked at the Grace Bay Club website and noticed they've now added a spa (we had to go to the resort next door), so that makes the resort complete.

    Enjoy!

  • I went to Turks and Caicos a few years ago.  It was the best vacation of my life.  I'm not the kind of person to explore and do other things besides sit on the beach, so I can only judge that.  The beaches were amazing.
  • We are going to Turks and Caicos (Provo) for our HM in July.  We plan on really just relaxing.. being on the beach, snorkeling, trying different restaurants, etc. I know there is a casino in town, but overall it's a quiet island, which is what we are looking for.
