Mystic Seaport Latitude 41

Has anyone held or attended a recent wedding reception at Mystic Seaport at Latitude 41 (the River Room)?  They recently changed ownership (used to be the Seaman's Inne), and I want to get more information about the food and service with the new owners.

I and another girl on here are having our weddings in June at Latitude 41.   I think she (Vanessa630 is her SN I believe) is having hers in the River Room/North Lawn area, but I'm not sure - I'm sure she would be happy to help you with that.  I am having mine upstairs in the Morgan Suites since I am having a much smaller ceremony/reception.

Coastal Gourmet is the catering group that took over management of the restaurant when they renovated/re-opened last year/this spring.  Kim Aubin is the woman you want to speak with from Coastal Gourmet, and she is awesome to work with.  I haven't had a food tasting from Coastal Gourmet yet, but when FI and I ate at Latitude after they re-opened in April, the food was great!  And Coastal Gourmet is very reasonably priced for wedding packages, and as long as we hit a certain amount on food costs, there was no site fee for us.  Overall, an awesome location, because you get the site after 5pm for the ceremony and/or reception (and the Seaport closes at 5pm to tourists, so you have private use of the grounds for photos) and it's right on Mystic River (<3 water locations!)

Unfortunately, I'm not much help since our wedding isn't until June but I always get excited to hear of another potential Mystic bride.  They've been great to work with so far!!

I got married there this past May. We were one of the first weddings after the switch. The food was great and Kim Aubin was great to work with. We had never tasted the food from the Seamans Inne but we loved the food from Coastal Gourmet. We had the salmon and the filet and everyone loved it. Along with Kim the rest of the staff was great to work with on the day of the event. LEt me know if you have any questions.

I am having my Rehearsal dinner at Latitude 41, and did a tasting with them (coastal gourmet, at Latitude) about a month ago since Coastal Gourmet is also catering my wedding.  The food is FANTASTIC.  You will not be disappointed.  Some of the best food I've had, and my FI and I are foodie type people who have discerning taste, so I think you will be very happy! HTH

I haven't been to a wedding there, but I went to a baby shower there where they had brunch type foods out on the North lawn.  Obviously the food will be different but their brunch foods were amazing so I'm sure that the dinner food will be just as great!  The service seemed really good as well.  I didn't see the back side of the service, but everything was really nice from what I could see.  Good luck!!

Im not having my wedding at the seaport but Im a mystic bride too. Im currently looking to have my wedding at the Mystic Hilton and have pictures done in the village where we got engaged.  Good Luck with the planning ladies
