Holiday Inn - Branford

Has anyone else had major issues with this hotel? I have had nothing but issues with trying to block rooms for guests and make reservations for myself.

FMIL blocked rooms, not me so I can't speak for that.  I had e-mailed them and asked about adding rooms and they told me they were booked solid and that room blocks would open up on May 30th (1 month before my wedding) so I asked when the last day would be to get the group discount and they told me May 30th.  Needless to say, most of my guests got rooms at Baymont.

I sent them an email a few months ago about reserving a block there and they were slow to respond. I didn't bother following up because we eventually decided to not bother with a block. We don't have enough oot guests that would be staying in Branford to warrant it, but we are still going to list it on our website as option for guests because it's so close to the reception.

Not sure if the management is the same but we had TERRIBLE experience trying to block the Holiday Inn in Mystic.  Thankfully, there were a bunch of other hotels in the area.  But it seemed as though there was no communication between the actual hotel and the people who receive your reservation proposal (I don't think they were operating in the country either).  The online people followed up with me and when I told them I still had not heard anything, their response was always that they would forward my email to the hotel. Awful system.

So far weve had good luck with them... We knew we were going to have a lot of OOT guests so my fiancé and I went in there early to block off 40 rooms. They said if 20 of them werent filled 60 days before the wedding, they would release half of them and the remaining unfilled rooms would be released 30 days prior to our wedding date. So far all of our rooms have been blocked off and they've even opened additional rooms for us... Our wedding isn't until September. I can't say how they are on the phone... But if you go in and speak to someone in person they seem to be quite accommodating
